I had a moment where I went from a 33 year old man to a 17 year old kid in 5 seconds.

I was leaving my house and driving down the street at about 27mph. A old lady walking yelled "Slow down!" at me. Normally, I'd let it slide and keep going, but something happened. I stopped and asked her what speed I should be driving. We went back and forth with tensions raising and I eventually called her an old bitch and told her to mind her own F'in business. Then I dropped traction control and chirped them taking the turn at about 50.

WTF happened?? I'm never 'that' guy. Can you catch douchebag?

Nothing sporty at all. I drive a 2013 A4.

It's a German car. German cars are carriers of dochebagococcus (the virus that causes alpha-male behavior).

Anyway, that old lady is probably bragging to her friends right now "I don't take any guff! I told him!"

As long as her husband isn't an old korean war vet who tells kids to "Get off my lawn". I'm ok with that.

Remember, people don't get stupid when they get older, they just carry over the stupidity from all their years of being stupid.

I doubt a stock 2013 A4 esp on what is more than likely touring/all-season tires could take a corner close to 50MPH.

II was leaving my house and driving down the street at about 27mph.

Which probably means you were going at least 30. On a residential street that is 20% over the speed limit which is too much. You were in the wrong.

The sign on my street says 30mph. In some areas of my street it's 35mph. I live in the county.

Sometimes people just catch you at the wrong time. But as a regular night-time dog walker I get pretty pissed about people doing 45 mph in a residential zone. So I would much rather you not be _that_ guy.

I"m with you. My wife and I walk in our area lot. We get mad at people doing 45+ in our area. In fact, I've called the police and asked them to patrol our area more for speeders in the past. We have a lot of kids that have never been taught the street is dangerous (or at least never listened) and will ride their bikes right out into the middle of a street and play chicken with you.

It's why I'm typically extra careful. I've actually had a 10 year old not look and ride out of his driveway and just miss back quarter panel of my last car while I was driving down the street. His parents didn't even bother to correct him. Just watched it happen and went back to their yard work after...

When I had my G35 I used to catch myself inching up toward 40+ when I got distracted. Now I drive an aging Toyota truck, and if I start slinging it around a neighborhood at 40 it will make all sorts of noises to let me know that isn't appropriate.

lol reminds me of this time I was riding a humvee down the mountain at Bridgeport. The roads are dirt, very steep, and very narrow, some spots you've got inches to the side of the mountain on one side of the humvee, and a 2,000 drop off on the other.

This Colonel coming the opposite direction in a Gator flags us down, proceeds to bitch out my driver:
C: Did you take the range safety brief when you got on base?!?!
D: Yes sir
C: And what is the max speed on the mountain?
D: 30 mph sir
C: How about you do your fuckin' job and stay under 30!
Colonel drives off. We continue, going about half as fast as before.

Me: Were you watching your speed?
D: Yes Sgt.
Me: how fast were you going?
D: 20
Me: lol fuck'em
