Yes, very well thank you.

26 years.

Small town.

If you can't parallel park how the hell did you ever pass drivers ed and get a license?

You want a challenge? How about backing a trailer into place.

In my driver's ed class, parallel parking was never covered. No one in the class I spoke with (to my memory, this was years ago) was required to, even with 6 teachers. My actual drivers test to get my license consisted of pulling out of the parking lot, and driving ~1 mile, which primarily consisted of left turns. No, let me take that back. It was NOTHING BUT left turns.

Having said that, when I'm in my personal vehicle, I can parallel park, but it may take a few tries. In my work vehicle, there's no way I will even try. In both instances, I'll do my best to find either the very last spot to || park or find a normal spot that's a bit away.

try paralled parking a 1 ton flatbed with truck boxes and a giant wire reel, that blocks your rear view mirror...with a 20 foot trailer and an 8000 pound trencher/backhoe on it.
Now thats fun!

I used to be able to parallel park like a champ...then I bought a monsterous GMC Yukon and those days are over. I have lived in suburbs and country...but the last 4 years were college, and I parallel parked all the time.

Parallel parking is not difficult. What sucks is when you get stuck behind the 80 year old coot that can't turn their NECK to look at the other cars and is trying to parallel park. Besides taking 5 minutes, they usually end up with the car 2 feet from the curb....AAARRRGH

I've been driving for 11 years now.

Ok, general parrallel parking is pretty easy. BUT, my friend, who has been parking in St. Paul for 20 years, can parrellel park like no one I have ever seen. He parrelllel parked in a spot that was seriously INCES longer than his car. I would think that would be geometrically impossible, but he can do it.

Hey, I guess I'll admit that I SUCK at parallel parking. The problem is just that I don't have to do it much so I haven't gotten the practice. I live in a plain suburban neighborhood and I usually need a larger than normal spot to parallel park my car when I take my car to school in center city Philadelphia.

I did have to learn to do it for my license, but they give you like 1.5x car lengths to do that in. That was easy.

I've been driving for almost 3 yrs on my own. I can parallel park fine. Not having power steering makes it a real bitch though.

I am actually pretty damn good! I used to have absolutely no confidence with it and then Skoorb took me out and made me. Worked wonders! I can whip the car into any spot now!

<< Rule 1. You have to know how to parallel park, or you will never be able to park on campus. >>

I would never bring a car to school with me, because nobody there really knows how to parallel park. Almost every time I see someone parking, they are destroying the car in front and/or behind them. I would be scared to park my car there.

I can parallel park pretty well...BUT, and this kills me, I avoid it at all costs, because my aluminum rims are too precious. heheh

17 inchers plus low profile tires = curb rash galore if i'm not careful. sucks

It depends,

For me parking a minivan would take so time eg 215 radials= more D, R to get the angle you need since it only moves slight when = parking

1.5 ft on both, frankly i don't think i that good but i guess get in there if i take my time, i say about 3 times. I am better with a small-mid size sedan

Have you tried to park in near SJSU, you be a pro by the time you graduate.

Yes, only if I'm pressured...

If I have all the time in the world, I can't do it...will take me 3-4 tries

But I see traffic coming from behind, I gun it and get the car perfectly in..

Weird

I'm a pro, I do it every day. This usually doesn't happen, but I don't care if I very lightly touch someone elses car.

I live in the city, and I drive a "city" car with scuffed bumpers, steel wheels, and no hubcaps. It's not worth it at all to have a nice car around here.

I used to own a '76 Mazda RX-3 with a turning radius so tight, I could turn doughnuts in my driveway. That's the car I used when I won the gold on the U.S. Olympic Parallel Parking team.

on the first try -- but here a lot of dimwits will race up behind you (and often honk or glare) when you are trying to PP, even if you've signalled, and you have to be kind of aggressive.
