Apparently the NDP are taking votes from the LPC and Greens. The Cons are also getting LPC votes, meaning they may win a majority.

It would be a great day in Canada if this happens. Either way though, the Liberal party becoming a fringe party is a great win for Canada anyways. Maybe they will wake up and become a true centrist party again rather then shifting so much to the left, but it's highly unlikely considering they learned nothing from the Dion debacle and the carbon tax. It would be interesting to see Layton be leader of the opposition. I would be happy with either majority or minority CPC + NDP opposition.

Went NDP. Never voted federal, so I don't know what normal volume is. The post-work rush seemed to have just gotten started when I got there though.

CBC is blacked out? I don't remember that happening last election.

They apparently goofed and posted an election result 55 minutes early, so they went off air with "technical difficulties" lol.

I was in the polling station for probably less than 1 minute. Walked in, walked to my table, showed my ID, got my paper, went behind the cardboard, made an X, brought it out front, put it in the box, walked out. Easy peasy.

Voted Liberal here. Don't really want them to win, but my riding is Liberal with a close Conservative candidate. Would rather the Liberal win.

The NDP could get just above 90 seats overall. Liberals and the BQ are in complete shambles. I love it .

CPC is absolutely killing Ontario, which certainly was not fully expected.

The funny thing is that the CBC said right now that the Liberals are actually UP 1.3% in popular vote, yet are getting their asses handed to them in seats.

Barbarians? LOL. Conservatives are not stupid and won't suddenly rule with an iron fist knowing full well they would have to answer in future elections. That would be the first step towards PC like numbers after the Mulroney days.

Harper is not going to eat your babies for crying out loud. Whether you like it or not, the Conservative Party is the closest thing to a centrist party that Canada has and speak for over 40% of Canadians which is just as strong as Chretien's reign.

Bringing up gay marriage is political suicide and will never happen (and would quickly be overturned in a future election). People voting for the Conservative party is mainly socially progressive and fiscally conservative. The deficit will decrease as Canada moves out of the recession and into a steady growing economy. Canada is the country that faired the best by far in and out of the recession.

Get ready for the removal of the gun registry for sure though.

Very unhappy with the Conservative majority.

I was hoping for a conservative minority with a strong NDP opposition to put a leash on them, at least half of that came to pass.

But this is the price of some well needed shaking up of Canada's political scene. Now we move forward with the NDP given a change, the Liberals given a swift kick in the ass for being empty suites since they were last in power and the Bloc Quebecois told that no one wants to tear the country apart.

Will the Conservatives shine or bring a tarnish to Canada, will the NDP live up to the responsibility given to them or will they fumble for what to do next and will Quebec feel alienated again so they go back to the Bloc Quebecoi.
