Canadians: Bagged milk question (serious)

i've been to Canada several times and noticed that people keep their bagged milk open and in a container exactly as below. they leave an open hole at the tip. does this not cause spoilage quicker? can government not pass a law to make plastic jugs the standard?

i assure you, my pungent friend, i am not trolling this time. i have seen this exactly as depicted above several times. it is indeed a strange sight to behold.

No, he isn't. I lived in Canada for a while and it is indeed like that. It wasn't a problem for me though.

It is cheaper IIRC, only in east canada also from what i remember, went to the west on vacation and didnt see it once.

I lived in Ontario for about 6 months, they have bagged milk there. Where ya from?

Calgary.

I lived in Nova Scotia for a year and BC for a year too and don't remember bagged milk those places either.

We have to change the milk bag here usually at least once a day. We have 1 bag of skim and a bag of 2% always open in the fridge.

They used to offer it in my town when you had a milkman who delivered it to your door. The last milkman in town stopped about 10 years ago, and milk bags went away forever

I remember getting gallon jars of milk from the neighboUr's farm.
I remember getting quart jars of milk on the doorstep from the milk man in the UK.
I even remember having to drink powdered milk when we were poor.

But never bagged milk.

it's sold in 4L bags, but in the bag there is 3 of the bag pictured. I just use a clothpin to close the folded mouth. we go though 4L a week minimum.

I buy the micro filtered 3.25% stuff though.

Still not as yummy as Argentine milk.

I guess it depends heavily on what you are looking for. I tend to stick to the ones I know, close to home in the hood, or pubs. I wouldn't necessarily recommend them (unless you are interested in Vietnamese!).

Honestly I don't go out for food often enough to be a good critic. And when I do go out with friends, I don't actually pay attention to the names of the places we're eating at. But give me some types of food and I'll find a good one for you!
