Candid Encounters With CELEBRITIES!

I saw William Perry (The Fridge) when I was about 10 at my mom's high school basketball game. Asked him for his autograph, he said after the game. He left at the beginning for the 4th quarter. I was sad.

Saw Peter O'Toole on a flight between London and Dublin.

That's about it.

I met and shook hands with Jimmy Carter once when he visited Nigeria.

Also met various ministers of Nigeria, met the ex-President's son too..was friends with supposed-to-be Vice President's son too.

Hurm.. I've met a few.

As for the ken griffey Jr. thing.. Up in MN here my friends dad had seasons tix through his company to the Twins games. I was a die-hard griffey fan (I have just about every damn card of him until about 95 or so), so I talked my friend into getting his dad to let us go to a mariners game when they came into town. These tickets were great, right by second base (visitors dugout). We got there early, and the mariners were just starting to get out on the field to warm up. Griffey was there, and I/my friend were wearing gloves and standing there looking star-struck no doubt, and he tossed a couple back/forth with us.

I was about 13 or 14 at the time.. made my fricken month at least.

Also the Vikings up here that live in MN all live in a pretty close radius in this super-rich city. Actually right near their training camp (winter park). So I've seen many, many vikes players coe into a video rental store my friend worked at that I just hung out a few nights. Met gary anderson (highest scorer in the NFL), chris carter, and daunte culpepper I believe. And yes, I did have access to their phone numbers/addresses from the rental computer. Also met/talked with John Randle at a gas station I worked at for a few months, go figure.

Met the governor of MN (not jesse, older one) when I was on some jnr. politician trip thing. Also worked closely with a MN senator trying to get a hate crimes bill passed (testified to the senate, etc.)

For you rabid kentucky college B-ball fans, I've met the U of L head coach on a number of occasions. Donut know his name, and didn't really care..

Met many athletes like magic johnson, michael jordan, john elway, walter payton, robin ventura, henry aaron (to bad I hate sports), and I have also met a lot of wrestlers which I could care less about.

Never met a movie star, but I have met many many musicians I think are famous, but none of you would know.

before going to ucla i met NO famous people. (i lived in oklahoma hehe ) but since then i've met brian bell, pat wilson, and karl from weezer, adam sandler (one of my favorite comedians ), mr belding ( i have a picture and will scan it once my scanner starts working again ), blosson, michelle kwan, that one girl from party of five and scream (forgot her name...), the brother of that one guy who goes &quot;whoa!&quot; in blossom..forgot his name too heh, i saw redman and methodman too on campus when they were shooting a video, superdrag, rebublica, gosh i have a few more but i can't remember right now. i mostly have autographs or pictures from most of these people. it's just fun...not that i adore any of them that much cept for weezer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) that was a dream come true.

I saw Reakwon from Wu-Tang clan in a grocery store once...Everybody attacked him asking for autographs and pictures after I pointed him out... Felt pretty sorry for him.. Was just trying to buy some milk.

John Lithgow is frequently on UCLA campus walking his dog. I walked past him the other day. No big deal except for this female who started that high pitched happy sound when she saw his &quot;cute&quot; dog. Whatever.

John Lithgow (guy from Third Rock From the Sun, right?). his wife is a history professor at UCLA. I hear he brings donuts for the office once in awhile. Never met him, but I suspect he visits often.

lotsa people from ucla see famous people huh? my aunt was in the elevator with tom cruise and nicole kidman when they were at ucla awhile back.

I used to manage a hotel and I got to meet a lot of celebs. Some of them: Woody Harrelson, Weird Al Yankovick, Willie Nelson, Fred Rogers(Mr. Rogers), former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral William Crowe, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Def Lepard, Tany Tucker, Brooks and Dunn, too many PGA golfers to mention (for a while I worked at a hotel in Cromwell, CT that had lots of golfers from the Greater Hartford Open), the guys from 38 special, Brian Adams, Nicholas Cage and lots of others I can't think of right now. That was one of the very few things I found about working in a hotel.
