Hi,
I have a Belkin wireless adapter that i use to connect my PC to a Netgear wireless router. i run my network in the 192.168.1 range. It was working earlier, when i had the setting obtain an IP address automatically.
But now, whenever i try connect my PC with my network, the adapter connects with a 169..... ip address. needless to say, neither my LAN or internet gets connected. i have manually entered the 192..... address along with the DNS address to gain access to my network and the internet.
I want to know why the sudden shift? the fact that it used to work earlier indicates that something went wrong. can you tell me how do i go about having it automatically detect the ip range of my home network and connect automatically.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
