Well, we did have an announcement that was posted at the top of every forum from 2/7/2012 to 4/9/2012 that said:
"As of early this morning, a small requirement has been added for entry to our FS/T forum.
There is now a 25 post minimum and a 7 day membership requirement to be able to have access to that forum.
This requirement is also listed in the guidelines under #15, which can be found in the PFI sub forum."
Maybe so, but I gotta say as someone just resigning up that doesn't help and I was quite perplexed as to why I couldn't access it either. My first thought was that there was a time period before allowing access, but most places that's 24 hours, so I wasn't sure when it still didn't work. Then I come here and, like the other poster said, the other thread did not give the reason, so I don't think people should be criticized for wondering what's up. Going to number 15 under the PFI sub forum doesn't mean much when you aren't too familiar with the place.
Couldn't the message given when trying to get access the FS/FT forum just actually come out and say why instead of offering possible reason's that are in fact, not the case?
I was a member here years ago, didn't post too much, but I've lurked on and off for a long time. I went to log in so I could make some posts and check the buy/sell because it's time for an upgrade. I couldn't find my old password and s/n info so had to create a new one. If I could be allowed access to FS/FT before 25 posts and one week, that would be great. I may try and get a SB if people are upgrading to IB. I doubt I'll get anywhere near 25 posts anytime soon. Do you guys really want people just adding worthless info to get to 25? I mean there are some questions I could ask, but still.
Just a general thought as well to the mods: keep in mind what it's like on the other end. To see some mods here suggest it's user error is kind of a put off and being directed to threads and implying none more are needed when the thread didn't even answer the question. Made me leery to post a new thread myself. At the same time, I shouldn't be expected to have to scour every thread about the subject to find the answer.
Thanks,
-Anthony
