Cant access my hard drive!

I have 2 hard disks in my system. 1 WD raptor I use for my system and games ( C: ). I have another 200GB hard disk which i use to store data and music. I partitioned my 200GB hard disk into 2 drives (D: & E: )

Now one time, my computer hanged and I rebooted my computer. But this time, I cant access one of my partitioned drives! (D: ) I can still access the other partition with no problems (E: ), But windows just says that my current drive D: is inaccessible. Windows' disk management sees my drive D: and reports it as healthy and active but unformatted with no file system.. How can I recover my files?

Is there any program that can fix this?

Sounds like your 200GB hard drive is dieing, I reconmend unplugging the hard drive untill you know how to do data recovery before it is officially dead and beond backing up.

Just got this drive about a few weeks ago. I did an extensive diagnostic test on it using the manufacturers diagnostic program and it passed everything with flying colors.

First thing i'd do is get a good program like Partition Magic and see what it says about the drive's partitions, if it says the same thing windows says try one of the many programs made to recover files, i've used Active@Undelete and EasyRecovery the only problem is when you recover files you have to save them to another drive (not the one you're recovering from) so i hope you didnt have too much stuff on the 200gb since your other drive is 36gb. After you recover everything important you might want to test the drive by copying lots of stuff back and forth from it to make sure it isnt messed up, and RMA it ASAP if it is.

Well I just decided to skip all the hassle, lose all my data and format my hard drive.

After formatting the drive, it now functions normally and passed all diagnostic tests I threw at it. Maybe it was just a windows glitch or something. I HAVE to get another hard drive in the near future so that I can RAID it for backup.
