a yellow rain jacket from my childhood
appears, and keeps rain off my skin
but I am drenched. Surrounded by
clouds, I see only what keeps me safe
inside my vision of the world
I?m dry
I?m crawling
through puddles
but I?m not quite dry, not quite wet
not quite able to see through the clouds
but I can see my face rippling in the puddles,
with specks of dirt and my gloves, my yellow gloves
I should take off, but I can?t comprehend
wet skin, not quite yet, not right now.
