can't format 40gig HD

I have the Maxtor 40Gig 5400RPM EIDE hard drive and when i tried to format it thru Windows 2000 Pro, it says the size is too big... i really want all 40 gigs on 1 partition, is that possible?

I believe Maxtor has a utility similar to the IBM utility mentioned above. If it didn't come with your HDD you can probably download it at the Maxtor site.

Or ask Maxtor.
