Can't install windows XP ......

I finally finished assembling my new comp. when I try to install windows XP I get a blue screen that says windows has detected a problem and has shut down the Computer . At the bottom it says
Technical Information
Stop: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005) 0x80568fb6, 0xf80c4910,0x00000000

I have an MSI max 648 MB
P 2.4 cpu
512 RAM kingston
maxtor 80 gb hd
MSI TI 4200 8x videocard

How far into the install is this?

i got a similar error message to that while doing a clean install of xp on a freshly formatted hd. I think it was because i had an incomplete version of xp (pss dont tell anybody lol) and it was missing some files. The way i got over that problem was by installing windows 2000 first then upgrading it to windows xp.

This happens after all the files are copied and when XP is finishing the set up mode. It says 39 min to go ..

Is it a genuine copy or an RC1 copy like mine and Liquids?

Thanks I finally got it to install .I reformatted and did a new install . I let it continue even know it said it could not read file PALAbi.ttff . What ever that is . Thanks
