My car is exhibitting a weird problem. Let's say I'm idling at the traffic light, then when I start releasing the break pedal, the car makes a weird noise, right before it takes off. Anybody would have any clues what that is?
You gotta low pitched, kinda groan sound coming from your brakes when your release them?
thats either brake dust, or out calipers not being lubricated properly, causing it to drag a bit. Check the brakes out, as it is most likely not the transmission.
Oh, BTW, you don't have racing brakes do you? they make all kindsa funny sounds when not warmed up, as the pad compound is really hard when cold.
It's most likey the brakes and get em checked soon cause you mihgt tbe damageing your brake drums and it's gonna effect your braking, plus it'll cost more to get fixed.
Is the sound made when you release the break pedal or when you press the accelerator? If it's when you release the brakes, you could have a bad pad(s) that is rubbing on the rotor. If it's when you press the gas, possibly transmission or even exhaust.
Air in the breaking system sounds possible, especially since break pedal was feeling a bit spongy recently, but I thought I was just imagining things. I'll get it checked out ASAP, thanks for your feedback guys.
