that about sums it up for me too.

oh wait, no it doesn't. You realize that by you doing that, you're basically saying that your time is more important than others'... it's not. Get your @$$ back in line like everyone else. Damn lane cutters too. teehee.

I wouldn't totally agree. When I get in a carpool lanes there are times when I'm flying but the other 3 lanes that are moving at maybe 20 MPH. So for the most part they do help people who have carpools. However I tend to think that the overall traffic would speed up if they didn't away with the carpool lanes and allowed everyone on them. Open a whole new lane for everyone to use should in theory reduce the traffic on the other 3 lanes.

One time I was driving down I-84 in CT and this lady cut out of the HOV and ACROSS 3 LANES to make her exit. Thankfully there wasn't much traffic on the road, but I mean really, how stupid can you be?

on the other hand, i don't think the carpool violation is a moving violation. HOWEVER, crossing the double lines most likely is.

you were stupid to scoot out of the lane like that. going over the doube lines is begging for a cop to pull you over especially if they're behind you.

crossing the double yellow is most certainly a moving violation

*sigh* seen similar too many times ... too many people willing to do ANYTHING to avoid missing their turn/exit. JUST GET OFF AT THE NEXT ONE. :|

Seriously! Luckily I was paying attention ( i was in the left lane) cause this car just cut in going about 30 mph, while I was going 75 or so.

I think the HOV lane should have a barrier separating it from the rest of the road. Want to get on, fine, but be prepared to stay on.

Basically, as I was traveling alone in the carpool lane, I saw a cop way ahead so I quickly got out thinking that i was totally in the clear. But lo and behold, I see him pulling away and slowing down and then as i passed him, he came up behind me and the sirens blared. i got ticketed for the carpool lane and also crossing the double yellow lines!! jeez....

So..anyone ever been in this situation? Do i get points for this? Carpool i'm pretty sure i can just pay the fine.

You're like the dude I work with who got three tickets in one maneuver:
Reckless driving
driving on the shoulder
I forget what the third was, either passing on the right or driving too fast for conditions.

He was in traffic in the right lane, and drove through some white lines to a merging on-ramp with no cars on it. Sped up to pass like a dozen cars before the merge and one was a CHP. He came into work telling the story like he was expecting sympathy, and I was like HAHA YOU LOSER.

$271 is waaaaaayy too cheap for this crap

I'd say $1,000 minimum, plus community service just to teach your ass some patience

What if it was a emergency and someone had no choice but to use that lane, do you think that fine is appropriate?

Yes, your point is irrelavent. Its like pulling out the rape card in a pro life/choice debate.
