Will the Antec SLK3700BQE case work with Asus A8N32-SLI- Deluxe w/ AMD 64 X2 4200 and 1 Gig Ram? I plan on adding 3 to 4 hard drives, a DVD-RW and a Geforce4 6600. Will I need 2 - 120mm fans with this setup or will 1 - 120 mm exhaust fan work? I don't game - it will be mainly used for storing, editing and playing videos , music and may be a game. I am more worried about having enough power.

Thanks

Eric

Welcome to AnandTech ericl23. I saw this lonely post drifting down the page and will give it a bump.

According to some you will be OK but for me, I think you would be slicing your bread a little on the thin side.
I maybe wrong in saying it, but at this point in time I have no love for Antec PSUs. Paticularly the ones that come with thier very good cases.

To get a ballpark figure use this, http://www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp

The three things most hold onto the longest are, the case, the display and the PSU.

Consider buying an Antec SLK3000B w/o PSU for about $60 shipped and a Fortron 450 watt PSU for about $50+shipping. Those figures are off the top of my knoggin, it might be a bit more.

That's what little I have to offer.

I have mine in a CM Stacker w/crossflow fan. I don't have the high temp problems many others report with this board, my mobo temps rarely go above 30. I had a P180 with an Asus A8N-Premium board and had high temps. I'm glad i sold the P180... i would trade no other case for my Stacker.

If you don't mind it's somewhat bland looks that Antec is a nice case with a decent PSU.

Personally however I like to get my cases and PSU's separate. Since I purchased my first Lian Li I knew I wouldn't be going back to any steel case ever again, which case is for you depends on you?re requirements. For the PSU I like Seasonic and Forton-Source.

I have fairly low Mobo tems as well with the Xross flow fan, I bought it as an afterthought, and dropped it like 10 degrees.

I'm sure you know about the +'s of this case here's some thing to just check out before buying
Mislocated motherboard mounting holes, would make me think twice.
Nice door to hide away drives that aren't in the same black finish as the case
The lowest 5"25 drive, you'll have to make sure it's a short drive as the space between a full-size ATX mainboard and the optical drive there is extremely limited.
The front usb ports are just mounted on a piece of metal which tends to ben and if you aren't really precautious...
Reduced ventilation for the hard drives that seems to be caused mostly by this sideways drive cage, also causing unwanted vibrations

Why are you wasting your money on the A8N32? It's an overclockers/gamers board.

The A8N32 is also fairly power hungry due to the extra chip needed to provide the second x16 connection.

Save yourself around $100 and get a cheaper motherboard.
