Hi all, I have been wanting to get a new case for quite sometime and tomorrow I will be heading out to go get it. Anyway, I am intending to touch up the case quite abit and make it as flashy as possible What I'm wondering is, how do I install the blue cathodes that I've seen in pimprig. And is it hard to install?

Also, I want to put at least 8 fans on my casing, I dont think any factory made casings support that many correct? So how do I install the additional fans if my casing only supports 4? Do you think it is possible for the shop to do that for me?

Cold Cathode lights are easy to install. Hook up the little PS box, mount the tubes (Velcro) and hook the tubes to the PS box.

Before you install any fans, you may want to peruse this category, as there is excellent information on cooling and cooling strategies.

Nope, its not random. I want 3 on my side panel (intake) 3 at the back (exhaust) 1 on the top (intake) and 1 on the front (intake)

regarding the fans, do you think it will be availble custom made?

That is wierd. I don't know wether to think your an expert and know something amazing about case cooling that know one else does, or wether your completly out of your mind.

This is all my opinion, but its backed up by good results from benchmarks.
-The fan on top should always be an exhaust fan. Heat rises and it seems to me that a fan exhauting air out the top would be the best choice.
-3 side fans? Why? I run 2 80mm Tornados in the front of my case as intake and a 92mm Tornado blowhole. I couldn't ask for better case temps. There within 5C of my ambient temps.

This just seems like overkill, and bad fan placement to me. But correct me if I'M the newbie here.

8 case fans are overkill for cooling purposes. Now if you want to install 8 just for fun then more power to ya. You can have your own airplane engine sitting by you whenever you are on your comp

Or you can go all out and get one of the tornado fans from vantec and really have a lot of air through your case. Fair warning, wind chill might be nice, but these things sound like very large vacume cleaners. I have a 80 mm one that I only use during the HOT days.

Are the fans easy to install? Yah of course, just mount them and plug them in. Same with the CCFL's.
