I'm glad you didn't declaw your cat. :beer:
I had a cat that had a litter of 4 kittens a number of years ago and I gave them all to friends/family and one of the friends I gave a kitten to had her declawed. That poor cat was in misery for weeks after. Yeah, they adapt...just as a person adapts to losing a limb. I'll never forget that and I'll never declaw a cat, and I've had numerous cats over the years since then.
BTW-Every pet I've owned since then (and I've rescued many) have been neutered/spade, but never declawed.
