Catalyst 9.8 is great!

Just picked these drivers up and threw them onto my compy.

Very High (All settings)
16xQ AA

Catalyst 9.7 - 29.745 FPS
Catalyst 9.8 - 36.385 FPS

Well it lets me set the AA to that setting in the Crysis Benchmark Tool's menu. *shrugs*

Isn't there a crossfire mode for it?

BTW, these kinds of jumps are impressive, it really changes the whole dynamic as to what card is the better buy.

Sadly, this is how every ATI product every released has gone. Nvidia cards generally stay fairly static in performance with new drivers, but toward the end of the life of their cards, ATI starts coming out with huge performance increases.

for 16x both cards have to work together for each frame... by the way i feel like installing CoH and test... but their lame patch system, really annoys me...

It doesn't matter if you select it because your card doesn't support 16xQ. You're probably getting no AA, or possibly 8xAA.

Yep end part says it all,

The results of my test session suggest that AMD/ATI programmers have done a good job to optimize the graphics card driver for the new OS (and not only for it because Windows Vista and Windows 7 share the same Catalyst driver pack).

The performance boost in CF is incredible for 4870 X2 owners. But single cards barely got any boost.

From Xbitlabs' review, the Radeon HD 4890 accelerates in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky with the newer driver, especially at 1280x1024. There is also a performance boost in Tom Clancy?s H.A.W.X. as well.
