I imagine the black community must be mighty proud of themselves to take down Don Imus. They can all sleep better tonight knowing the world will be a better place tomorrow.

Now lets us white folk go after some of these black leaders for similar statements they've made. An eye for an eye after all.

We won't. We're not that thin skinned. We know that we will in actuality accomplish nothing.

One day no one will be able to say anything because it may offend someone.

Mr. Imus crossed the line with great frequency. Multiple apologies evidently weren't enough. Black leaders called for blood and they got it. The world is a better place.

I am starting to be a believer in the Rev AL---as he eats Imus as a snack and takes on the big money power of the music industry. And for the next trick I fully await driving the money changers from the temple and becoming the next messiah.

But some where in this whirling dervish of activity---please Rev AL--throw us all the head of Rush Limbaugh---thy work cannot be complete with out it.

I know what your saying but I don't see a "black community" as a whole anymore than I see a monolithic "white community". There are lots of blacks that don't identify with Sharpton or Jackson. This is a fact that doesn't get attention it merits.

I just saw a black man defending Imus on CNN, calling what CBS and NBC did cowardice. I agree. What's that racist Sharpton gonna rally everyone around next? What voice will he want to silence next?

Sharpton has been very nervous about Obama. People close to him say he has been obsessed over Obamas rise. I am sure he was looing for a chance to grab some headlines. I think this isn't going to play out for him very well. I hear a lot of whites saying Imus was just an old fart with a stupid show anyway. I hear blacks saying the Sharpie is overdoing it. I rarely listened to the show myself because it seemed low rent. It was like Stern except that instead of strippes they pretended to have a veneer of literacy. I won't miss Imus and am glad he is gone. I hardly blame Sharpton either because he is like a bacteria. The problem is the quisilings in the media. I know these people who run media personally and they fear and hate blacks - that's why they cater to them out of guilt and never live around them.

In my town I did see Sharpie on the street, Hes bigger than he looks on TV. Maybe about 6'2" Of course the hair probably makes him look bigger.

DO i think he will do it...NO, i think that is 100% talk. I just heard him on FOX (started watching TV again......dont know why my TV was on fox) and he was talking about he was going to bring the heat to people in the music business.

Some quotes from Jesse and Al;

Jackson called the firing "a victory for public decency. No one should use the public airwaves to transmit racial or sexual degradation."

Said Sharpton: "He says he wants to be forgiven. I hope he continues in that process. But we cannot afford a precedent established that the airways can commercialize and mainstream sexism and racism."

It's up to the media to force these two money grubbers to follow through. I doubt they even understand the implications of their statements. Well Sharpton might, I think Jesse is as dumb as a box of rocks.

He does have some big ass hair. I havent heard anything about what he says about Obama but if its bad then i hope its the nail in his coffin. Most educated black people dont really care for Sharpton, but the latest fisco with his support for Sharp James against Cory Booker pissed alot of people off.

Where was Al Sharpton when Jessie Jackson made his "Hymie Town" comment? Jessie Jackson said that Don's statements were not a slip of the tongue but a well thought out belief. If this statement in mind we can then conclude that Jessie's own prior statements about New York city being "Hymie Town" to be his own well thought out beliefs as well.

I had no love for Don Imus. Frankly his show was freaking boring as hell. He had no real talent as a radio personality IMHO but his firing is just such B$.

Please understand something--both my wife and I are college NCAA basketball fans and total bigots. Of of all the sad and and sorry NCAA Division one Basketball teams full of nappy headed female hoes and egotistical male jocks, there are only two total teams that are paragons of virtues---and hate to tell this to the Rutgers team---in our book---you ain't in our holy group.---and if you can't go with God you can go to the devil.

And that other side of us are really thrilled---after being cheap shotted by Imus----the Rutgers womans basketball program strikes back, and got that bully pulpit---and have proved to this nation that they are fine young women that this nation can and should be proud of. And they have carried the needed water for for not only the female NCAA athletes but men as well in a real class act.

But as for Rutgers itself---they are and remain the villains in our book.---believe us because we are truly biased. And have two and only two double standards.

The question is now---Is Imus truly biased?---maybe we should leave that question to Rutgers rather than Sharpton.

Obama has been taking a lot of spot light attention away from Sharpton and Clinton both, the main problem with the whole thing is that Jackson and Sharpton have made a business out of calling people on race, they make money somewhere, so they have to keep the race issue alive. As long as you dwell on something it will always be an issue (not saying it would go away all together, you still have you biggots out there).

And like others have said, most educated blacks to not associate with either of them, its the horde of un-educated minions that give them the power they thirst for.

Bill Crosby is a speaker that people needs to pay more attention to, that man has a good grasp on common sense.

"Veneer of Literacy" The best minds in politics and the media, writers and musicians in the U.S. Comparing him to Stern is ridiculous. You're glad he's gone but you never watched/listened to the show... I got it.

I believe that Sharpton isn't going to go after music but instead try to take down more talk show hosts who don't show him the respect he feels he deserves.

The print and broadcast media hate talk radio and getting one as old as Imus is the first step.

Let "us" go after Sharpton and Jackson and the other "Reverend" bigots, not because we're white, but because this sort of nonsense is wrong and despicable no matter what color of skin you have.

I'm waiting for Sharpton and Jackson to apologize to the Duke LaCrosse players. They had those guys convicted and hung on the spot.

The Satanic Reverend Sharpton has no concept of forgiveness and relishes in someone losing their livlihood.

I predict Don Imus will get a job at Fox News as a morning commentator. Or maybe as Bill O'Reilly's new muse to replace Heraldo. Imus is now in a position to galvanize right wingers who love politically incorrect jabs at the "criminalistic Democrat Blacks." Similar to Mark Fuhrman's hiring by Fox News as a crime analyst.

New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine was hurt in a car accident Thursday evening while traveling to host a meeting between the Rutgers University women's basketball team and former radio host Don Imus.
The meeting between Imus and the team proceeded without the governor.
Jon S. Corzine suffers broken leg and ribs, hospital says

Should Corzine be considered a collateral victim of Imus because of what he was traveling to? How about a victim of the forces of racism, hypocrisy, divisiveness, and self-victimization, i.e. those that called for Imus's firing?
