CDRom isnt reading my discs

Hey guys, I'm having a little trouble here.. :/ My CD drive was working great last night, I had just ripped some CD's onto my computer.. Then when I Tried to install Call of Duty2, nothing happened. As in no window came up asking me what I wanted to do, so I checked the D Drive. It just says "CD Rom" and no icon or anything by it. I take the cd out, put it back in, try both cd's, nothing works.. so I try a Judas Priest CD. Nothing. And now it won't read any CD's including the ones I ripped earlier.

Does anyone know what could be wrong here? this is really irritating

Try a new cable, after trying to replug the old one.
Try a cd cleaner
Try a new cd player

My burner just died last night. Only two years old. It happens.
