Does anyone know if intel will ever make celerons w/ a 100MHz fsb? I heard something a while back about the 800MHz model using it.

Also I was thinking of getting a 566MHz and o/c......seen some on egay that run 958MHz w/ 1.9V.........but that voltage seems very high to me. Any opinions?

I have 300a o/c to 504MHz now.

they were supposed to come out with a version like that, but i don't think they will anymore. i think as soon as the P4 comes out the Celeron will be phased out and the PIII will take it's place. just IMO

I believe the Celeron will not go past 800MHz with a 66MHz bus.

I don't think Intel has decided whether or not to release an 800+ Celeron. They're waiting to see how the P4 thing pans out.

They're flying by the seat of their pants recently. Just have to wait and see.

I have heard that they would release one but I don't see it happening soon.
the Multipliers are getting insane. my 633 celeron 2 has a one of 9.5.
It also runs on the 100mhz bus too (950mhz @ 1.75v)

Yeah, the 633 I ordered from buy.com ran at 95fsb (900mhz) at default voltage with stock cooling. I'm sure it can go up to 100fsb easy with a bump in voltage. Didn't like it at stock voltage.

I have heard that they will release Celerons w/ 100fsb default. Why bother waiting when you can buy a 633 that will do it for cheap?

I though very few 633's made it to 950 even with lots of voltage. Where did you get your 633?

Got it from buy.com. If you do a search for "633" in the hot deals forums you'll see that a lot of people had the same success as I did ordering from buy.com. Looks like we all got cb0's from around the same week. Look at overclockers.com's database and check out the specs there as well.

I am using a Abit VH6 board with this chip no problems

i've bought two celeron 633's when they first came out, both run rock solid at 950 with 1.85V and a gorb cooler on a MSI 6905 slotket (important to get a good slotket, like MSI!!)

those were cb0 stepping chips no less. $80/piece and damn fast for being bx compatible.

According to intel's latest roadmap, the Celeron 850 based on a 100MHz system bus will only be released some time in the middle of next year. Its the case of too little too late again. Even now, my C566@850MHz(which is probably exactly what intel will be selling) is getting pushed back to the low end.

I got my Celery II 633 from Buy.com and she run 950mhz at 1.85 volts very nicely. I just bought another for a friend from Buy.com and it was a cC0. Great buy for $80 ($20 coupon on www.fatwallet.com). Go for it. You won't regret it.

I've seen the Intel Roadmap too. However at the moment I don't see the FSB issue as the main one since the lower chips are overclocking so damn well. The trick is that Intel spoilt the cache blocks on the Celeron. This means that even though it shares basically everything with the PIII, a 950 Celeron only acts like a 800PIII. If Intel go to the 100FSB it's not going to improve things for the overclockers really.

Ok, lets say I get a new 633 and o/c to 950MHz. Will my overall performance (program loads, media player) be much faster if any? I have 112MHz bus now on my 300a and getting a 950 would make me lower my FSB to 100MHz. I don't do much gaming and stability is a must.

I have Abit BM6 MB
256MB ram cas2
(2) 13.6GB 7200rpm drives w/ ultra66

anyone hear anything about cC0 stepping celerons not working on BM6 MB (intl says they need split Vcc)?

From my personal experience going from a C504 to a C850, general performance didn't improve by leaps and bounds, but it did improve. The most noticable improvements for me was gaming.

I just bought the celeron II 600 for 70 bucks...does anyone know whats the core voltage for this CPU? I don't have a slocket, and I can only change the FSB setting (as it is a socket 370 MoBo), I have the options of 66, 75, 83, 100 and upto 133 MHz. how far can I go, with the default core voltage settings? thanks.

highest I got my 600 was 750 83 fsb. I don't have votalge adjustments either.

Anyone know of somewhere that shows/tells the modification to make a ppga sloket fc-pga?

thx

the sad truth is that intel dosn't NEED to release a 100 fsb celery...

think about it, it preforms close enough 2 compete with the p3.

not only that BUT ALSO in the US the celery HAS NO COMPETITION!!!

not enough OEM's are made with the DURON(in our market) to justify having the chip go faster(at the moment)
if however AMD get's moree OEM support neext year... lookout intel!

LONG LIVE THE BOTH OF THEM
yep... yall keep driving the prices down! who cares which is better LoL!

somebody gemmie a WORD!

My new Celeron 600 runs just fine at 900 with a globalwin cooler from compucheap.com. The MSI-6309 allows voltage adjustments from 1.65 up to 1.85 in the BIOS and at auto it ran 1.75. I lowered it to 1.65 and it is rock solid. I believe the factory default core voltage is supposed to be 1.50 for the .18 micron celerons at 66 MHz fsb. Mine is plenty cool at 1.65, it runs around 38 degrees C when under load with a case temp of about 28 deg. C.

My celery600 runs rock solid at 901mhz at 1.7v... Core voltage is 1.5v, tho. I'm still trying to get some MORE voltage... wanna try for higher speeds, but don't think 1.7 is gonna get it.

Isn't the default voltage 1.7 for the 600's? Pretty sure that's what the last one I got had on it. I've tried to OC 2 different 600's, got them both to 900 without a problem at 1.85v, pretty cheap way to get a 900mhz!
