Like you, I believe their main goal is to "shake up the establishment," regardless of the policies they're shouting loud' and proudly about today. After all, young people have been doing that for decades!Originally posted by: eskimospy
Well, it seems to me that the people who say that are more interested in shaking up the establishment and getting it out of its current cycle of corruption then they are with any particular policy goals. I don't think there is necessarily anything wrong with that.
I've personally been accused of planning to do the same, but I won't. For me, if it comes down to a semi-decent election between Obama and Huck, or Obama and McCain, then everything will depend upon the 1-on-1 debates, and the consistency in character of each candidate. At this point, Obama is the only real human being I see in the entire field... but we'll have to wait and see if he keeps his composure and integrity throughout the year before I commit 100% next November.I read a good blog post today though which I think was spot on... if Obama does manage somehow to win the nomination I'll be interested to watch a bunch of people on the right who say that Obama is okay right now turn on him like rabid dogs.
If far-right fanatics believe that type of 180 degree turn is a good strategy, I think they're underestimating his charisma and genuine support...
