Characteristics of a Superhero?

I'm writing a paper that describes the characteristics of a typical super hero. I believe I have to pick 3 and so far I have:

A: They have some sort of advantage over regular people(Superman's strength, Batman's badass gadgets)

B: They end up having an attractive female companion(Lois Lane, Vicki Vale)

and C: ???

Interesting paper...

They all have some kind of phobia, weakness or flaw... Well, thats a characteristic of Marvel ones. Wolverines height, Prof X's handicap, Storm's claustrophobia, Cyclop's father complex, etc.

To be a character of any kind you have to have this trait. Its not exclusive to superheroes. Jimmy from superman is too curious for his own good. Mary Jane from spiderman is terrified of failing in the entertainment biz. Everyone has some kind of complex.
