I stopped shopping at frys a long time ago, but this might be a deal for me.

i seriously hate frys, they have the worst customer service! I once saw an add for cd-rs for a very low price, went to frys, and they didnt even have them on the shelf. Everyone was complaining and wanting to know where the cds were. took like 15-20 min for them to bring in more. I'm not saying frys completely sucks because of this incident, they suck cause they simply SUCK. At least this is how it is in Burbank, Ca

Frys service does suck, just know what you need before you go in and get there early for these types of deals.

Pcyanine type 8 or 9 is usually really good in my experience.

while we're bashing fry's, i'll get in on it. they are the worst store. their store is garbage and their "customer service" is trash. there is a fry's less than 200 yards from where i work and live, and i need CDR's badly (have only 2 left), but i'm still not sure i can bring myself to go and try to take advantage of this. cause i already know i will leave the store disappointed...

If you want to see where fry's saves money, look at their policies and employees. It would appear as though they plucked them out of either a looney bin, or a second grade classroom. They also do not accept American Express (the preferred small business credit card) and writing a check takes longer than waiting in their half hour lines. I would rather pay twice as much and give my money to a worthy business. It troubles me that my money is going to those one celled amoebas they call frys employees.

They are bad in Northern California also. Terrible customer service and always long lines. I hate to buy stuff from them. I only go there when they have good deals.

I bought a mouse from them but it didn't work; DOA. I had to go all the way back to exchange for a new one. They had me go look for another one rather than have an employee get one for me. A friend of mine bought a mobo from them only to find out that it is also DOA. I've asked the employees technical stuff and they were clueless, often telling me to ask someone else. I think there is only a couple or so knowledged staff members on the floor.

I personally only have problems with the cashiers at Fry's. The ones I have BIG problems with are the ancient Chinese women they have working there who are total BIZZATCHES when it comes to honoring deals. There was a receiver that was $70 off.. Manhattan beach store said they'd honor it even though I was a day late but they were out, and sent me to the Anaheim store. The retard at Anaheim refused to even let me speak to a manager.

Anyhow, I use the employees solely for checking price/stock/location. I always do my product research first.
