I will be getting 2133 memory or better for sure. The cheapest 2133 or better on newegg right now is 2400, F3-2400C11D-8GAB. Just need to pick a MB. Anything I should look for when getting a MB for an APU. New FM2+ boards seem to start at $40, but I don't really know anything about AMD's chipsets.

This one, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128694, is $35 after rebate.

On a tangential note, thanks for posting that BTW. I let an earlier $45AR deal on it slip by and ended up with a severe case of non-buyer's remorse, so I grabbed one this time just before the rebate purchase period expired. (I'm not 100% sure I'm going to keep it yet, but since I'm in the midst of a Newegg <whatever-they-call-their-version-of-Prime> free trial period, I can return it for free if I change my mind.)

To late for intel cpu now. I think the A10-7860K will handle Minecraft OK though.

Now to figure out what MB's will support the apu out of the box, as I don't have another FM2+ cpu to use for flashing. Pretty sure I need either the A78 or A88X for overclocking the gpu and cpu. Is the ability to adjust the TDP on the A88X important for the A10-7860K?

Edit: AMP is just an easy button, so I can set the setting manually if needed.

Some of the parts mentioned on the first page are good enough I'd say, don't think you'll have to worry about the BIOS flashing part especially with the new(er) motherboards.

TDP adjusting only seems useful if I wanted to reduce its power and put it in a small case. So it looks like either chipset will work for my needs.
