I've been looking for cheaper long distance and decided to take a look online. Found two companies so far that offer cheaper rates.

One is Onesuite. Rates for US long distance is 2.9 cents/minute. In state long distance rates are the same as interstate. I've been reading the FAQ and so far I do not see a monthly fee. I'm not sure as of right now, how large of phone credit you must buy at one time. I would guess about 5 or 10 dollars. THe good thing about this place is you can configure it so that you do not need to dial your pin each time.

Another one I found is Bigzoo. They charge 3.9 cents per minute (or 2.9 if there is a local access number. FYI only 3 in TX) AND a monthly fee of 75 cents. My friend uses this and says voice quality is great and there are rarely busy signals.

Any comments on these companies? Especially Onesuite? Voice quality good? Any busy signals?

for people calling india, my friends do, buy a mci worldcom bolliwood card and it has no connection fee and also the operators are so dumb that when you tranfer your balance from one card to another you always end up with extra minuits.

I've been a Onesuite customer for a while and I'm fairly pleased with it. The minimum you have to add is $10.00 which gets you quite a few minutes. No other fees, just the 2.9 cents a minute. You can have it so the system automatically recognizes your phone number so all you have to do is dial the 1-800 number. The only thing I would have to say is bad about it is that sometimes I get error messages. Not too often but soemtimes I get "The number you have dialed does not have enough digits..." or "The pin you have entered is not valid, please try again." I find them odd because its from my home number which is automatically remembered and if I call back, the numbers I dialed last time work. It seems to me they are giving me false error messages, but this doesn't happen that often. For the price, I can put up with it every now and then.

I was using Bigzoo for over 8 months and then switched
to onesuite 2 months back after the credit card hack at bigzoo.

Both services are pretty much the same, though lately i have
been getting more error messages as above & busy signals
in onesuite. maybe time revisit bigzoo.

I am also using onesuite for about a month, encountered busy signal twice. the 1st one last 30mins that I can call out, which I was really upset, email them and they said they updating their system at that time, hummmh. the second time get busy signal twice and the third one come through, good price but know that will encounter busy signal during peak hours.

the international call quality is much poorer than domestic, sometime, hardly heard anything due to signal noise.

overall, this is a very good service, but keep in mind, what you paid is what you get. another thing, there is no fee or tax whatsoever because this is a prepaid service, regular long distance will charge 15%+ in tax on top of all kind of fees.

If you've got a high speed connection, Dialpad offers free long distance over the internet. They offer international for something like 3 cents a minute.

Been using onesuite for over 4 months. Encouter a busy signal once in awhile, but overall very satisfied with service & quality.

Have GTC as designated LD carrier. 4.7c per minute with no monthly minimum or fees. Only use it when onesuite is busy and must complete call.

Been using OneSuite for about two months now (thanks to you guys). Here are my observations:

1. In about 5-10% of times you get the error message.

2. There are no monthly fees.

3. Their web-site says Canada is 5.5 cents but they charge the same as long distance: 2.8 cents.

4. Your records are immediately updated. That is right after you finish the call, you can go online and check the records of that call.

5. They keep the record of your calls for (it seems) ever. Once I was in Boston and could not remember a certain phone number. I got on the web and retrieved the number. Real handy.

6. Their international rates are mixed. Some countries, the rate is excellent, others are not. My guess is that countries with less sophisticated communications devices are not competitive with OneSuite.

7. I have used it to call international and the quality has always been as good as domestic.

I've been using OneSuite.com for about 6 mths now , and I have at least 15 people I know personally that have 'em as well. I've never had a problen, connection is good, very rarely is the line busy, and most important of all there is no monthly charge or connection fee unless you call from a Payphone (which I've never done) I Believe in that case they do charge you like 50 cents or something. BUT THEY ROCK!...so far so good...Use 'em you'll like 'em. BTW is in increments of $10.00 .

Hi Folks.,
I have not used " One Suite" but a few heads up.
1. I use the SPRINT calling card and it is only for calls in the US. It si 2.8C per minute - call from a land phone anywhere. However calls from a cell are charged extra. No connection fee and you can recharge on the same calling card thru a Credit card over the phone.
But if you call International call - they are really expensive. I happened to call India to interview a newbie for our organization and the bill came to my phone. It was a wopping 71 cents per minute.
- These cards are avilable in any COSTCO outlet.

2. The same cards used by MCI a few montsh back at COSTCO was around 50 cents per minute but not any more.

Happy Ringing

Well there is one sorta hidden fee. I believe your money has an expiration date on it. Nothing serious, though, IMO.

I went to sprint's website. Under their calling card section, I didn't find any 2.8c rates. Cheapest was 4cents. Can anyone give me headsup on the rates?

thanks

quick question about onesuite.com. If you purchase a certain amount of minutes - say $10 worth. Do they have to be used up by a certain amount - say by 30days? I read somewhere on the website something about 6months. So I have to use the minutes by within 6 months or they get cancelled?

thanks for the info.

I have been using Qwest for about a year.
It's not quite as cheap as these, but it is at least a larger company & is MUCH cheaper than the "usual suspects."

I pay 5 cents a minute anywhere/anytime AND, I got a $75 check from them when I signed up. There are no extra numbers to dial & no monthly fee or minimum amount to spend. Now that I think about it, I seriouly doubt that I have even spent $75 on long distance this year...so far, I am still making a profit off the deal.

I'm not sure what kind of deals they are running right now, but I am sure they have some sort of promotion (often through other websites).
