Note: This isn't a thread to lure away people from Anandtech. This isn't a cut and paste post, because I've been up for a couple of hours getting them set up. And if your a moderator, I have nothing against you and AT, but I just want to create another means that may be faster and better to help people.

Well, I just wanted to invite everyone to come and join my forums at btvillarin.com. I created it as a means to help people out, and hopefully without having to deal with the lag of some other forums, which will remain nameless.

I tried to disable some of the stuff that might slow other people down, like avatars and stuff. And, I hope that I have enough bandwidth for everyone, especially after my host is able to upgrade my account to where it's supposed to be.

Again, I just created this because I wanted to help out people with computers. It's my hobby, and I have fun doing it. So, if you feel the same way I do, please don't hesitate and register at my forums. I've come quite a ways with my website, and I want to continue to be a presence.

There are a million computer forums out there...from Tom's hardware to AT to Rallispec's forums. What does your have to offer? Not trying to bash, but your forums look like every other php forums.

What do I have to offer? I don't know...speed? I'm not sure if that's just because the database is so large in the older ones, or what, but that's the one reason. And the other reason is for the reason I posted initially. Also, I just want a close community. I just didn't feel that here at AT. At my forum, I think I'd want to get to know everyone there a little better.

If that's not a good enough reason, then oh well. But that's just what I'm really feeling right now. And don't think I wasn't thinking about the millions of forums out there. But hey...what's a million-and-one?

Some helpful critisicm if I may;
Too many topics .. and you're windows-centric
Too many topics though .. windows could be it's own forum right there, no need to divide the breeds . what happens when you can't get 98 to see an XP share on your LAN? Where do you post then? I just think you gotta narrow it down a whole lot, otherwise you're fine .. if you ever get huge amounts of people joining up and stuff and you need to get organized, then maybe .. but for now, it looks like your spreading yourself thin. Throw a *nix forum in there if you know what's good for you.

My forum is down, due to a problem with the server provider. If you were going to check it out...if you wanted to check it out, then sign up for my mailing list for updates for my site. I'll tell you when my site is up, amongst other details about it.
