<< There's censored parts of the West Coast picture. If I had Photoshop installed, I could tell you exactly where one of them is.. I just chanced to find it when I chose a point to zoom WAAAY in. There's a little red box drawn around it too - but it's not noticeable from the whole picture.


EDIT: Okay.. It's just south of the northern California border in about 1/3 of the length of the northern border from the ocean. Just zoom in that area until you see a red box.. The stuff inside the red box looks nothing like the surrounding image.


Anyone know what that is? >>

bad idea. that will eat up so much of your own bandwidth you won't know what to do. and it will take forever to propagate to hosts. just newsgroup it and let the news server handle the traffic.

I know how much bandwidth it eats up. That's why I cap the BW when I want to use it for something else. Portions propagate to new hosts as soon as they get the pieces. That's the way the donkey works, and the way kazaa works now AFAIK. Newsgroups are great if your ISP has a good server, but a lot of people don't have good coverage for binary groups without paying for it. Do you know any good public newsgroup servers BTW?

I average 15GB/day outbound through Kazaa.

HAHAHA. Dude, the red dots aren't the fire... You can't actually see the flames... They are indicating WHERE the fires are. They are added in. Think about it... When you see forest fire footage on TV, there's usually a TON of smoke right? Dry wood + dry leaves + dry animals (heh) = a very smoky fire. Now, as most of us learned by the age of 7, smoke travels upwards... Sattelite pictures are generally taken above the earth's surface. Perhaps the smoke would get in the way and you wouldn't be able to see a bright red square?

Evidence:

Look at that fire! Gee, no smoke, and wow... it even turns at right angles. Damn that's a smart fire
