Um, the 600MB one IS going to be compressed right? Either as a JPEG with quality 12 (I thought the quality of the west coast was a little too blurry for my liking), or winACED? Those who want lossless can get the winACED one and those who want high quality (with a little loss) can get the JPEG with quality 12

Actually how are you going to even edit that? If it's 42000*21000 pixels then that's 882Mpixels of data. Each pixel is 3 bytes of data (or 4 if you include alpha channel!), which means it will take up 2646MB or 3528MB of RAM. Computers can only address up to 2048MB ram so I think you're f!cked even with virtual memory...

maybe someone should divide the 600mb version into continents....since most people will only want to see north america . We dont need it as one big picture because it will crash everyones computer.
