I wonder if phucheneh is this trippy in real life. He seems to have an entertaining way to quickly form a viewpoint about anything with the scantest of information. See post #81 for a humorous example. I need to start using crazy avatar images for some deep future psychoanalysis.

That chip on his shoulder concerning American cars is slowly revealing itself in an ugly way. Lets see if all this can come to a crescendo. Mr. Phucheneh, how do you REALLY feel about American cars? Don't hold back. Your answer is very important to everyone on the Internet.

I utterly despise GM. They make awful, terrible crap that should carry a 'made in China' sticker and be priced accordingly.

...but I'm not lying when I say that's not the issue here. I've been through this before...I need to just stay away from threads about 'new' GM cars, because I am well aware that I feel the need to provide an opposing voice to those who will lap up anything they fart out.

But I don't like creating solutions to other people's self-inflicted problems. If you wish to say 'wow! they made the same car again! only with an automatic only! and it has a face that even its mother could not love!'

...that's your choice. But don't get so butthurt and irrationally defensive when I state something obvious like 'if you pay 40-50k for that, something is broken in your brain.'

edit: Oh, and the avatar thing was not entirely serious. But it does cause me to default to a view similar to those who have stickers, T-shirts, ect with their favorite make or model on them. 'Brand loyalty' is just a lack of independent judgement.

See the bolded above. I don't care about the SS. I would never buy it the way it is.

Really, does that even matter though? Your posts start off ok, but they have a downward slant into crazy.

Right, you are an obvious ranting fanboy.

I need to just stay away from threads about 'new' GM cars, because I am well aware that I feel the need to provide an opposing voice to those who will lap up anything they fart out.

I'd say the general response from just about everyone in this thread to the SS was lukewarm to cold at best. I don't think a single person so far has been head over heels over it. It's probably a fair value, and it doesn't really look that bad. Those aren't exactlly raving compliments.
So I'm not sure what view it is that you are opposing, other than those perceived in your lunatic mind.

I think the only person in this thread who cares whether a car made in Australia is or is not "better" than a car made in Germany is you. That's what seems to have sent you off the deep end here.

Free advice: Learn how to approach things logically and dispassionately, and you may then become something more than wrench turning goober/internet forum rager. Good luck.

I'm pretty excited about this, as these will eventually drift their way into the used car lots. There are those of us that do prefer RWD cars that don't scream "sportscar" or "musclecar" at the top of their lungs everytime you look at them. Subdued styling is good, imho. It is a shame that GM can't seem to make an affordable RWD economy sedan though. But hey, a halo full size sedan like this is a good start.
