Chicken Tab Benchmarking

Can we turn this into an unofficial benchmark? It was a fun idea before the thread was closed.

For newcomers: basically, open up as many instances of this video as you can in separate windows of Pale Moon 19.0.2, a Firefox fork (I'm trying to standardize this a bit here!). I chose Pale Moon just because it has a 32 and 64-bit version, and it can be manually updated so we can all stick with exactly the same browser. Preferably try both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions and report both (or at least specify which one!). See how long it takes before the windows freeze and won't play the songs anymore!

Report how many CT (chicken tabs) before dying, the CPU utilization, the RAM utilization, what CPU you have, and how much RAM you have.

I realize that this didn't seem very consistent or logical in the old thread before it was locked for becoming off topic, but standardizing the browser will (hopefully) allow for more valid results. Hopefully, IDC or someone with access similar tools can turn this into neat graphs or tables!

Chicken tabs ho! :awe:

Ill give it another shot, 3rd time lucky!

100 tabs go!

Half of them are playing, looks good so far

lol @ Vaas Montenegro's comment!
"Did i ever tell you the definition of insanity?"
Is it trying to play 100 chicken songs at the same time?

All 100 tabs loaded and playing

Flash then crapped itself after a minute

However 51 tabs are still playing

So... 3930k 51 CT's :awe:

Pale moon didn't put the CPU under as much strain as chrome or IE for some reason. Was pretty usable with 100 CT's open.

Hey, I'm just glad to see that this thread at least has a stamp of approval for now! Can I import the benchmarks from the old thread?

Thank you mark,Hugs:awe:

I had my friend run it with FF on his 2600k @ stock with intel 80gb 320ssd and win7 64bit 8gbs ram.He got 21 tabs before it crashed.

What have I done?

I am up to 40 tabs, but Pale Moon is struggling to open up the last few tabs. Plugin container is up to 2.6GB, and CPU is @ ~20% usage.

Phenom II X6 @ 3.7GHz

Edit>> Doing Windows instead of Tabs (per OP), I'm currently @ 30 Windows, but the last five are struggling to start playing (Flash is loaded, but not playing). @ 2GB RAM and ~20% CPU

Edit2>> 29 windows playing. That last window just won't start....

Whenever somebody asks, "But can it run Crysis?"

I will tell them, "I don't know, but it can get at least 30 chickentabs."

I have like 25 tabs running in parallel on X4@3Ghz, no problems. FF 32bit 19.0.2, latest flash plugin. CPU is at 27%, memory at 3.7GB . Flash hardware accel. by GPU is disabled as it crashes my PC with my 6870.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

When i saw the ct benchmark evolve yesterday, i just knew something BIG was on its way!
This seems to be the perfect place for my first post. 12 ct on my e-450 netbook. Will run it on my work station and home pc later.

Best regards.

I'm going to begin aggregating data into an Excel worksheet--those who haven't yet, try to edit your benchmark'd posts with how much RAM, what processor (and it's clockspeed), and if you didn't use Pale Moon 19.0.2 , what browser.

www.heatware.com
i5-3570k @ 4.2
16GB Samsung RAM @ 1866 9-9-9-24-2t
Palemoon 64-bit

I made it to 24 separate windows. It kind of crapped out on 25 but it might have loaded if I gave it more time.

RAM utilization was 5.1 GB and CPU was around 50% per Task Manager.

I would rather be interested in comparing browsers on the same machines, to be honest. I haven't seen barely any cpu increases past 10 open tabs, so it'll probably be a test of [ram handling? garbage handling? threading? maybe a combination?]~

Go for that comparison too, if you want! Just label the results and check the usage. I think it'll be an interesting look into the differences between web browsers (how they use RAM, the garbage collecting, the threading and CPU usage, and so on).
