Im looking for some help troubleshooting a small but important issue with Sharepoint. I am running Sharepoint Foundation 2013, with SP1 and the latest CU installed.
I've googled for a solution and multiple people have this same challenge, but nothing seems to work for me, so perhaps its not resolvable.
When using chrome on our sharepoint site directly, and clicking on a word document, the file will open directly in Word. However, if we send the link via email or even paste it into chrome, chrome will download it to a local folder. I would like it to be configured so that if someone receives a link outside of the sharepoint site, it will open the file from sharepoint directly.
This works in IE and I believe firefox as well, but some users have chrome as their default. I've tried installing an MS Office browser plugin for chrome but that doesnt help either.
Any suggestions?
