Chrome is killing my HD

Chrome Version 37.0.2062.120 m, it claims it's up to date.
Win7 Pro x64
8GB RAM
60GB SSD primary Win7 install
1TB HD for all other installs

Lately, I have noticed that when I open Chrome, my HD light goes nuts. Stays solid for a good minute or so and Chrome gets all laggy. So I opened up Resource Monitor, and poked around in the Disk section. My C:\ "Active Time %" starts ratcheting up and sometimes hits around 20 - 25%(not good for an SSD I would think), and the chrome process Read/Write(B/sec) numbers goes insane as well. It will eventually even out but it's horribly annoying and can't be good for the SSD. Occasionally, when I shutdown Chrome, usually accidentally, and try to reopen it within 10 sec of closing, the HD light goes nuts and Chrome never starts. If I wait, I can open it again, sometimes I have to force-close the process from Task Manager.

Also, when accessing websites, random ones at that, Chrome just sits there and the status bar at the bottom says "Waiting for cache....." and it just sits there and sits and sits, then finally decides to load the page.

Any clues?

I have the same exact issue happening with me. Computer acts like it can't play basic web video with chome operating(I have a 7850). Just starting doing this a month ago. Would love to know if there is a fix. It is def Chrome according to Task Manager.

Rollback to the older version till a fix comes out

I think it was doing it in a previous version as well. I had noticed the same behavior awhile back, but never put the 2 together until I got fed up with it and started poking around.

actually been playing around with PaleMoon to see what it's all about

PaleMoon is firefox but with the user interface of previous releases.

Personally, I use SeaMonkey because it's firefox but with the same user interface it had back when it was the Mozilla browser.
