Saw this movie yesterday. Happen to be an exceptional movie, but wasn't prepared for ending of movie. The majority of moviegoers actually clapped at the end. I was momentarily stunned for a moment before I did too.

A lot of adults for a Saturday matinee.

I recommend that you go and see this movie. The plot was excellent and the special effects were mind boggling. Better than Star Wars or Harry Potter?!!!!

I plan on seeing it real soon but really looking forward to seeing it.

I found Star Wars a bitter dissapointment and Harry Potter is good but not great. IMHO

I thought the movie was mediocre at best. Some of the special effects were fantastic while others were apalling poor. Felt the pacing was completely off throughout the movie, slow at the beginning and rushed towards the end. Overall it worth a rental or added to your netflix que but not the cost of a movie ticket unless that price is 4 dollars or below.

Sadly, and I know I might get bashed, but I think if there was just a tad bit of blood, it would have helped it. I mean, when Pete kills the wolf, and Aslan is like "Clean off your sword", if you notice, he's cleaning his sword and it's still 100% brand-new shiny, not even a drop of blood on it. Um, what exactly are you cleaning off it kid? Also, when the fight it going on at the end, with all the hacking and slashing, you would expect just a little carnage. But oh well, I guess thats why theres LOTR. BTW, the Pirates of the Carribean 2 trailer was worth the price of admission IMO, it looked awesome!

This was intended as a good movie to see.

LOTR is superior naturally, but one has a choice this season and you can see CON or whatever.

And to C.....

Those who compare LWW to LOTR are doing so out of ignorance and a fell perspective. Is it because WETA worked on both films that they're being compared? Or perhaps because they were both filmed primarily in NZ that you throw them into the same pot? Lewis and Tolkein were collegues and close friends who shared a common theological focus but each believed living out and exploring their convictions quite differently.

Those who read C.S. Lewis' work and have more than a fleeting children's memory of the Chronicles of Narnia regard Adamson's LWW as being every bit as powerful and accurate to Lewis' legacy as Jackson's work was to Tolkein. There was no intent to make another LOTR and there was no riding of the others' coat tails in the making of LWW other than in utilizing the same special effects house that LOTR used.

It is only right that the films do not so closely parallel each other in style and content. It would be an insult to the authors had the films been truly comparable to each other. There is ample room for both stories and movies on the media shelf. Just because one person's perspective or another would have preferred more blood, less children's emotion, this or that is par for the course. Everyone has a certain expectation of what they would be entertained by. Those who understand the authors intent and the passion in how each lived out their lives however; don't compare the films to each other. They enjoy each for what they are.

I saw it with my boyfriend yesterday; it was okay. I thought some parts were a little too "kiddy," and some of the fake English accents got a bit irritating. But overall it was decent. Worth the ticket price.

EDIT: P.S. -- pretty violent for a PG movie. Lots of characters get stabbed. I wouldn't recommend ppl take preteen kids to it.

I saw this movie earlier today. It was decent but no match for LOTR for sure. The ending was a bit too violent for PG rating.

We saw it this weekend. I've never read the books.

Overall I liked it a lot. There were a couple parts that annoyed me.
1) WTF was that beaver wearing armor for? Was he planning on swinging a sword around to fight those minotaurs? I just started laughing when I saw that shot, even though I'd come to terms with the whole talking animals thing and didn't mind it.
2) No blood. I'm sorry but when you impale a wolf through its heart with a huge sword, there should be blood. I know they were going for a PG rating, but swinging swords around involves bleeding. I'm not even sure you're protecting little kids from "violence" when you just give them violence, but portray it incorrectly. But thats another topic.
3) Was that kids sword magic? And by magic, I mean it magically have him grandmaster sword training and the strength of 20 men? Because I don't see how else he kicked a minotaurs ass.

I thought the effects were awesome. I've seen centaurs done a lot before and they usually look like ass. They looked great, as well as the fawns. They were smart enough to combine real people with CGI wherever they could, rather then just making total CGI creations whose face NEVER looks right.

I'll agree the pacing did feel a bit rushed at the end. But I found the movie surprisingly emotional for something about talking animals and kids swinging swords around.

King kong > CON

if you have a choice between the two, go see KK...

IMO, the movie dragged on and they could have used a more initimidating/powerful voice for Aslan...

saw both movies for free!!!! yeah me!!!

If you put blood in, you ruin the movie. I would want to take my younger children to see this movie, so I appreciate that they didn't put unneccessary violence in it.
