So do you support female circumcision then? By this, I mean removal of the prepuce, the skin around the clitoris. Smegma can build up there too if a person doesn't keep clean.

There are several types of female circumcision, but I'm only referring to this one.

twice a day, thats not even necessary.....i imagine you'd have to go 3-5 daays without a shower before the smegma appears. The penis is capable of keeping itself pretty clean for a while.

The logic behind this is that the extra foreskin keeps your helmet from rubbing against your pants all the time, and as such isn't as used to touching foreign surfaces.

I'm the product of a semi-botched circumcision (Cut a little too much on one side, a bit too little on the other) and have no desire to replicate this atrocity in future generations.

Ok, everyone needs to give MisfitsFiend a cookie or something, because when I saw this thread, I couldn't help but laugh for about 5 mins (I'm working in a college computer lab right now) and it definately cheered me up.

Oh yeah, I've been under the knife. Dunno what it feels like to be uncircumcised, but I'm fine the way I am. (although I hear it kills like 18,000 nerve endings or something like that when you get sliced...)

no, no - my gf loves it and says there would be nothing to play with without foreskin. It would just be a boring stick with nothing to move.

Anyways, who wants to harm their son right after they have been born? Aren't they going through enough to adjust to living outside the womb without making them bleed? I don't understand at ALL how anyone can oppose female circumcision but it's ok to lop off a boy's foreskin. Genital mutilation is just wrong. If you can teach your daughter how to clean herself, how hard is it to teach your son? It's more trouble to care for a newly circumcised boy by monitoring the dressing and checking if the wound is healing (or has been infected) and if the necrosed skin has dropped off. For an uncircumsized boy, you just leave it alone - seems like it is more trouble than it's worth.
