Seriously, just go grab some windex or some simply green and a paper towel and clean off your monitor screen. You overclockers will notice an immediate pixel increase. And you smokers, will see what's going on in your lungs after you look at the discarded towel.

I know, I just went on a cleaning spree in the house and the computer area took me the longest! Cans, bottles, cigarette butts and hundreds of little notes. I cleaned it and then cleaned the monitor. I now officially own a high resolution monitor .

Gawddammit, how the hell could you work in an environment like that?! :disgust::disgust::disgust::disgust::disgust::disgust:

Maybe it's because you smoke, that's why your screen is dirty. Ever thought about not blowing smoke at the monitor?

My son and I both have Mitsubushi 2020U, 22" monitors that we have cleaned with Windex for 13 months, since they were new.

We both started to see irridescent streaks on the front glass...

...THE ANTI-GLARE COATING WAS COMING OFF!!...

Mitsubushi replaced them both no charge and now we clean the glass with only human breath and a soft cloth...

Windex is bad for glasses too, from what I hear. Rubbing alcohol is supposed to be an acceptable substitute.

If you see any shiney spots in the coating, call Mitsubushi.

The manual says it's OK to use "household cleaners", but their tech reps say it's a mistake...

..They'll send you a new one via FED-EX 2-day and pre-pay the return of your old monitor via FED-EX 2-day..

...It only took five (5) monitors that they sent to get one (1) that FED-EX hadn't dropped!

Their anti-glare coating sux, but their return policy is the best in the industry...!

So what's the best to use when you have a huge handprint on the monitor? Water doesn't work so...

Considering all the trouble I've been through, I'd use a 10% white vinegar solution, just like you'd use on windows and a SOFT CLOTH, not paper towels!

Some manufacturer's coatings hold up to 409, others much less.

If breath doesn't do it, try the vinegar.

Rubbing alcohol would be expensive? I can get like a bottle to last a life for $.50......... Anyway I'd use no solvents and wash it with distilled water and a towell.
