I've found conflicting answers and I don't want to ruin my beautiful IPS so here is my question: Can I use a clorox wipe to clean my monitor's screen? if not, what can I use that is cheap and works?

thanks

I periodically dust mine (gently) with a microfiber cloth. If you need to remove snot spots or finger prints, wet a corner of the cloth and wipe gently. Avoid chemical impregnated wipes.

I bought those monitor wipes at staples but they had very little liquid on them so they didn't get rid of the grime

1) Cables Unlimted ACC-FIBER6 Ultra Absorbent Microfiber Cleaning Cloths

2) Monster's ScreenClean LCD Display Cleaner

That is what I use. Works GREAT!

DO NOT USE CLOROX WIPES.

The bleach will damage the plastic. You aren't even supposed to use those wipes without wearing gloves.

I use a automotive glass cleaner (stoners invisible glass, meguiars nxt glass cleaner, 3d glass cleaner or eagle one 20/20) with a SOFT microfiber glass towel.

While my monitor is usually spotless, the others where the little ones play are covered in fingers smudges. The automotive glass does short work of the grime.

I use a 50/50 alcohol - distilled water solution sprayed lightly on a lint-free cloth, not directly on the screen.

This method is recommended on an LCD manufacturers website, although I've forgotten which one.

I do the same.

The surface of a monitor isn't glass so just because a cleaner is safe for glass doesn't mean it's safe for plastic

Most of the time tap water and microfiber cloth...nothing stronger than water/isopropyl alcohol mix if there's a spot that is a bit more trouble which is very rare...most times the water can get what little specks may get on my LED monitor.
