Hello,
Just built a PC with a Asus p5k Deluxe mobo and an intel core dual 6600, 4 GB of ram. I was in set-up today to change the boot sequence and may have screwed something up. When I power up, the power starts up for about 5 seconds, the fans start including the processor fan, the LEDs all come on, and after about 5 seconds, power goes off for about a second, then powers right back on and the LEDs all start up, and the fans are all on including the CPU fan.
However, my monitor is black, expect the monitor power led is on.
I have been working this for 6 hours now and spent some time on the Asus site. I found that resetting the CMOS by removing the battery, temp changing jumpers, then put the battery back is a step Asus recommends. I did that and when I powered up, this time PC did power up, did not shut down after 5 seconds, in other words, all powered up except I had to reset the system clock.
Then, when I do a normal shutdown, it takes me back to the initial problem. Each shut down requires thre CMOS clear just to be able to boot up again
Any help would be appreciated.
