why not use splenda its 1000x better than the other artificial crap
Agree 100 percent. Hopefully it will move to more and more markets. Right now they make some really good ice cream bars with it, for example.
They probably don't use splenda because they're cheapasses and it's relatively expensive compared to aspartame or saccharin.
Diet Rite uses splenda and it's pretty good. But it's caffiene free.
News Article:
"Sucralose
Marketed as Splenda, this substitute is sugar combined with chlorine, which prevents it from being metabolized by the body. Pepsi Edge contains Splenda and high fructose corn syrup. "No reason to suspect that sucralose causes any harm," according to CSPI."
Mmmm.........chlorine sugar
Take a Carbon chain comonly called Sucrose and replace the center carbon with a chlorine atom. Molecular shape is identical to Sucrose and hence your taste buds recognize it as sweet like sugar. Being that the Chlorine bond is sufficiently different (I believe that the bond is going to be much stronger) the body is unable to fracture the molecule and hence it will pass through unaltered and you will be none the worse for wear.
Just because it has a chlorine in it doesn't mean it's going to hurt you, after all sodium chloride has Chlorine in it as well (a bond that is severed in water).
Now aspartame on the other hand breaks down into wood alchohol and formaldehyde at body temperature, and how many of you eat stuff with that sh!t in every day?
