I know the (stand alone) new version is announced, but I can't believe they are just leaving the current CoH high-and-dry with no expansions, user-mod tools etc etc. The game is certainly designed as if it had expansion packs and user campaigns in mind but, to me, it seems like they are ditching that path?

Common! I can't replay the single campaign another time! I need new content!

I WILL buy the new version (when its out), but its just amazing to me that they wouldn't create some additional campaigns, or release the tools for end-users to do so

I for one hope that they offer a Pacific theater expansion pack...or add Allied or even Axis campaigns for the European theater.

Or maybe a North Africa Allied expansion.

They're continuing the series, so I think they're adopting a Guild Wars style of getting dough.
Either way, they're developing the engine continually to allow for new innovations in gameplay and graphics to get in. A strict ex-pack wouldn't necessarily have this.

A Pacific Theater with Marines vs Japanese and Air and Sea battles would be something, but I don't know if the CoH engine is built for it. They'd have to do some serious modifying. But it'd be awesomely cool nonethless.

A North Africa campaign is a necessity is as well. Americans and Britons alike struggled over the sands of Tunisa and the like to kick the Italians, Vichy French, and Germans out.

I hope after they do the British and Panzer division in this first one they do Itialy and Russia in the next one.

Then head over to pacific and do Japan and China or US Marines/Navy
