Thanks AndrewKu, but I have a question. I've been reading different reports about this issue. Some say it's Intel's problem and others say it's a memory problem.

Would other Centrino notebooks have the same problem, like IBM, or is it just HP/Compaq?

Can't really say since I haven't read up on it enough to say what the exact issue is... Just something I came by me in my day of general browsing...

It could be a combination of issues (memory and maybe chipset), which is why other companies don't have something similar popping up.

IBM has already released a statement regarding this.... IBM Notebooks are NOT affected. It seems HP was making a calculated statement to try and spread the problem around to areas where there was no problem.

IBM also stated that their desktops are NOT affected by the Intel Recall.
