Compatibility Issues - VIA and celeron

I've got a motherboard from some big OEM manufacturer from a friend. It came with a celeron 667/sockcet 370 with a 66 fsb. I was wondering that instead of a celeron, I could stick a cyrix III chip in there. I know they are both socket 370, but the cyrix III is supposed to run at a different fsb. Will it work?

It might work. Try to get more specifics on the mobo by reading any model numbers, etc.

Use WCPUID and check the chipset. If it is more recent than BX440, then you should be able to use C3.
