I like the Memorex DVD-R media coming out to $1 per disc. I was planning on mail ordering some Riteks from rima.com but I think I will go for this deal since I won't have to deal with shipping. I have had great expeirence with Memorex DVD-Rs so far.

just curious... is this laptop a good deal at all? I'm looking for one for when I go to college, but I'm guessing it would just be best to wait a few more months. I'd mostly be using it for surfing the internet and word processing, but I'm also wondering what sort of games it would be able to run (e.g. hl, ut, ut2k3, bf1942). thanks for any info. I don't really have experience with laptops.

edit: oh, I'm talking about the toshiba 2.4ghz for $599 link to product info.

No, there is only one page of stuff that's good from 6am -12pm the rest is open.

For the price it not too bad, just don't expect to play any 3D games on it. Battery life will be lower too based on a P4 type core. You want a Pentium M (all centrinos have it, though you don't need a centrino) and at least a Geforce2MX. Perferably a Radeon 9200, that can run just about anything out right now 1024 with most things turned high. Rad 9600 notebooks are hard to find right now, you can find a couple for but they are over $2k. I would wait for next year where there will be lots of 9600s.

Uh.. you can get a VERY nice Sager 5680 for 1500...... and they are VERY availible...
