CompUSA Dreamcast clearance

I already posted this as a reply to another thread but I thought it probably deserved it's own thread.

I was at CompUSA this weekend and my friend noticed a "Clearance" rack of Dreamcast games. I bought Gauntlet Legends for $18.99, there were other games in there including Resident Evil:CV the fishing game, crazy taxi, evolution and evolution 2, marvel vs. capcom and a bunch of others ranging from 7.99 (fishing game) to 18.99 (Resident Evil, Gauntlet Legends). This was at the Kansas City CompUSA so I don't know if it is national or regional or what.

The DreamCast console is already cheap. Just head over to your local Electronics Super store and purchase the DreamCast while you wait for the PSX2s to be available. Or can wait until the Game Cube or the XBox comes out.

ElPool, check out your local Hollywood or Blockbuster video. They are often times selling their rental units for pretty cheap.

I got mine last X-mas for $139.

Dreamcasts are extremely cheap now... they're practically giving them away as it is for $150. It's tons better than a psx and a psx costs like a hundred bucks..

It's been at buy.com as DOD (twice now?) for 110...not incl. coupons. But they sell out within an hour or two, and the DOD shows up at about midnight PT which can be a real pain depending on where you live.

xsecurity - cduniverse sucks i called them on that deal a couple days ago and they said that they had none in stock and no idea when or if they will ever get em. The lady then proceeded to ask me if i wanted to order one for when they come in, i said you might not even ever get em or not for months? she said yes, so needless to say i did not order. but for the sports set that is a hot deal, if they ever actually get em in! as a side note these idots still have the $149.99 dc listed on their site as $199.99, idiots!

I ordered one during the free shipping last week - so I got mine for $120.

All you goobers that are purchasing the PS2 for anything over retail are out of your minds...

The xbox specs are so amazing that there will be some serious advantages in owning it. (not to mention that there will be WAY more titles available for the xbox - b/c MS will not charge development royalties whereas Sony charges people up the kazoo for developing titles for the PS...)

the gamecube looks promising, if you dont like online multiplayer ...

Just think of how much more Micorosoft dedicates itself to supporting developers in order to sell their products. Sony is making the same move that Apple made when it guarded its hardware and p-OS

and yes, Ive played it... the graphics and gameplay rival (but do not beat) a computer. Especially Madden2001 - now that looked very sharp.

Xbox will make people regret this purchasing decision. And for all this hype, you will be left with a 300-1500 dollar DVD player in the end.

I tried to get one, but I couldn't - and I'm not paying over
retail just to get one now. So, I picked up a Sega Dreamcast
for less than half the price instead!

Like all consoles, DC Games are meant to be "backed up". I think out of my 50+ games, 2 are originals, and they're still in the original shrink wrap (JC Penney deal) Bought two units, sold one for $140 on egay. Add in the rebates...I was paid to buy a DC, get free games...now thats a HOT deal! I'll wait on the PS2.

KeyzerSoze, I also did the JCPenney 30% off bundle deal. Take those 2 DC games still in shrinkwrap back to Penneys. I forgot how muc I got back, but think it was about $40+. So $160 price - 30% coupon - $50 rebate - $40+ game return.

Still waiting for my rebate too...

Back to the original topic...I checked one of the CompUSA's in Charlotte, NC and they are not on sale or clearance. For example, Gauntlet Legends was still $38.

Crazy Taxi is $19 at Best Buy, as is the NHL game. Sega is starting their own "value line."

It's not a local sale. I picked up Soul Caliber for 19.99 at Comp USA today; they also had Tokyo Extreme Racing and some other stuff, but for some weird reason neither Marvel vs Capcom nor Resident Evil were at the sale price over here. BestBuy also had a few good titles on sale; I bought Power Stone there for 19.99, so I guess this is some kind of nationwide blowout. BB also had NBA 2K, Magforce Racing, Carrier, NHL 2K, Crazy Taxi, Time Stalkers and Omikron all for $19.99. Even Target had a few on sale, but everything was mostly picked over. So boys, go to it! Go get ya some games.

Buy.com has a few Dreamcast games cheap. Combine them with some coupons you can work it to a very favorable deal. I got NBA 2K and NFL 2K for like $16 each before coupons.

I think I just saw discounted DC games in the Kirkland CompUSA today. Didn't pay attention much but I do remember seeing a low price and thinking "hmmmnnn ..." but the PS2 looked good playing some football game which distracted me back.

these are all OLD or UNDESIRED (not selling fast enuff) games. the updated sequels of these games are sitting on the shelves right next to them, why would they have the OLDER ones still at $40-50? ask me a price on ANY DC game and i bet i can tell you the cheapest place to get it in MY area...incidentally, did any compusas in youse areas have ready2rumble2 for $37.88(cheaper than the advert)? i thawt dat wuz strange
