Hey

Last on my list is a new case. Money isn't much of an object as of yet, and I've read that this case is my choice - Lian-Li P60

My system is going to be a

ASUS A7A266 ATX motherboard (VIA 266 chipset)
AMD Thunderbird 1.33 GHz DDR CPU w/ large h.s. & fan
(2) 256 MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM DIMM
Sony 1.44 floppy drive
Sony 12X/40X internal IDE DVD/CD ROM Drive
IBM 60 GB 7200 RPM DMA-100 hard disk drive
Creative Labs Geforce 2 GTS 32 MB AGP video card (to be replaced by a geforce 3..)
Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! X-Gamer (Dolby 5.1)
Netgear FA311TX 10/100 PCI ethernet adapter
Creative Labs v.90 56k internal faxmodem
Microsoft Elite Natural Keyboard (PS/2)
Microsoft Optical Intellimouse (PS/2)
Microsoft Windows 98 SE

Actually, I guess I will worry about a monitor on my next post. But for now, how does the case on the link provided sound? Will it do well with the athlong? Does it sound good, or are there better? (again, money isn't a concern atm)

Thanks!

That case looks nice, but damn it's pricey I want to suggest that you replace the Sony DVD drive with a Toshiba. Overall Toshiba is much better quality and many people would probably agree with me. Otherwise great system. Though I wonder why you'd spend so much for the case I'm running an Enlight 7237 and it's great only cost me $60 CDN (w/o PSU; I had an Antec 300W)

I say go with the lian li pc60, good quality case and lightweight. There was another aluminum case i saw before that was anodized any color you want but i think it was in the neighborhood of $500. But for about $160 the pc60 is definitely a good buy without money being and object.

Suggestion for a monitor, the Viewsonic G90mb. 19 inches of pure sweetness, and its black. I think i got mine for around $350 with some buy.com coupon. Is it just me or does anyone else with a black monitor think that the black is less distracting than the usual greyish beige color?

Get that viewsonic 19 incher, and then get the Antec SX1030B. That case is black too. The case is the best case I have ever worked with. Very roomy and looks good. The price is pretty nice at around 90 bucks. The thing also comes with 2 80mm fans so really the case would be like high 70s, low 80s.

Awesome system, but I really think you should get Windows 2000 to really take advantage of it..

the ASUS A7A266, isn't that the ALi based Athlon DDR SDRAM chipset?

the one you're looking for (that is Via based on Athlon and DDR SDRAM) is the A7V266.

Soccerman is right.

A7A266 is using the Ali chipset.
A7M266 uses the AMD units.
A7V266 uses the forthcoming Via design.
