Been on the lookout for a new computer chair. Haven't seen anything I really liked. Couple of Herman Miller chairs at Costco for $299 but that's pretty expensive for a mesh chair. Plus they don't have any demo chairs out that I can sit down in to see if i like them. Any good deals out there? Budget is under $300. I do spend a lot of time in the computer chair though (sadly :/) so maybe something to help out my posture would be nice. Going to be hard to do for under $300.

Anyone use a kneeling chair for computer use? Don't think they would be too comfortable to use for long periods of time, even if you're body got kind of used to it: http://www.amazon.com/Office-Kneelin...486076&sr=1-27

Costco has Herman Miller now? You should get one, and try it. With Costco's return policy, you just can go wrong. $299 for an Aeron would be a steal. Heck, I may go there for lunch now.

$900 be way above my budget.

No, shut up.

...but if there are more chair threads somewhere link me up to them cause I couldn't find any.

The one's at costo aren't Aerons. Aeron is a specific model of Herman Miller I believe. Here's the two they have at costco:

jesus long link

and a mesh version of this chair: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...=1&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1

sitting in an aeron right now
have one at work also

sitting in other desk chairs is generally not as good. i sometimes fall asleep in the aeron if i relax too much. even at work

if you work at it you can find a nice deal on an aeron, not even necessarily used. a new chair comes with a 12 year warranty so consider it an investment. warranties do not transfer if the chair is resold.

Have a Leap at work - the older model. Loved it so much, and it helped me so much that I bought one for home.

Hubby nearly flipped when I paid almost $500 for it. Have had it nearly 3 years and it still looks brand new. My back has completely stopped hurting since I've been sitting in a Leap & sleeping on a spring-free mattress. All in all I'd say it was worth the ~$2000 spent to eliminate the back pain I had.

PS - I worked for a company who had Aeron chairs. I used one for a solid year, and do not think it compares to the comfort or quality of the Leap.

Has there been any deflation on the seat padding? That's what I hate most about office chairs.

a used leap on ebay goes for about your budget if you can pick up locally. i don't recommend any lower model steelcase or herman miller. we got those in your link at work and they aren't even close to aeron.

Ok thanks, I'll see what I can find. Going to be hard to find any steelcase leap chairs locally I have a feeling.

some chairs I noticed (maybe only herman miller) come in different sizes like size C and size B. What's the deal there?

I don't have an Aeron, but I do have another Herman Miller chair called Reaction. I got it from a used office furniture place a few years ago for $250 for the high end fully adjustable model. Do a google search in your area for used office furniture places. You can get a pretty good deal buying previously used gear. The best part is all the stuff you can check out thoroughly before buying.

None.

They are designed and constructed differently than your standard office store ~$100 chair. I've sat in my work Leap for almost three years now and it was passed to me from another department who had the chair for at least six months before I got it.

I prefer the seat shape a little more on my home Leap, and afaik it's the same model that they currently sell. Home leap was purchased in summer of 2008. HTH.
