I've decided I'm in the right major when I start buying textbooks and realize "wtf... I checked this one out of the library last year and read it cover-to-cover."

I'm having a similar problem where I keep taking the math test for the school I'm enrolling (Bfit.edu). I keep failing the math test to get in, where If I pass with the minimum score I'll only have to take MA-120. Which is very frustrating to me because I want to take up Electronics engineering. But, I'm not meeting the schools grade level for math. But, everything else I'm upto par with. I would have to switch over to a community college and play catch up. But, it's not very inspiring to me and leading me to other alternatives such as trade school for Electronics Technician or Electrician(wire code) trade. The results of trades schools though lead to believe they graduates aren't very satisfied with their unemployment after graduating.

I just don't want to spend 4 years trying to get an Associates as an Electronics technician. <---Irritated.

Not to put you down, or say that you can;t do it (mostly because I'm horrible at math), but you may want to examine that choice very closely. Electrical Engineering is, in my opinion, the most math intensive of the common forms of engineering. You can do it if it's what you want, but expect a long hard 4 years if math isn't your forte.

I'm about to start my 2nd year of CompE at Georgia Tech...I've only taken one CE class so far, but I have 2 more this semester (Digital Design and DSP). That's not what I want to talk about though.

I want to talk about how much I hate my co-op (government contractor). It started off cool, learning VHDL and working on FPGAs; but now ALL I DO IS PROGRAM AND MAINTAIN OUR DEVELOPMENT BOXES. So I'm either editing C code, writing makefiles, or testing new software/patches on our Solaris development servers.

I'm not doing CE to do CS and IT work! :|
