Computer freezes when surfing web

I ran prime 95 for hours without a problem. 15 minutes of surfing and the computer freezes. I can't use mouse/keyboard and have to reboot by restarting the computer. Sometimes I can only surf for 5 minutes. I have charter cable internet via router, integrated Lan on Via P4PB ultra mainboard. 512 meg stick of crucial pc2700 DDR RAM, Radeon 9700NP, latest drivers for everything.
Any idea what I can do?

This only happens when u surf? How bout when u run office or something? Try scanning for viruses, try different web browser (www.mozilla.org).

And there are updated via 4 in 1 drivers for download, www.viaarena.com

It only seems to happen when I'm surfing. I'll reload drivers and see what happens. If that doesn't work Ill try another browser. If that doesn't work I might have to seinstall Win XP and start from scratch. I might try another stick of Ram and finally I'll try a new motherboard thinking there's something wrong with the onboard LAN.

Reinstall the LAN drivers. Better yet if you can, install another NIC. Seems like the onboard NIC might have a problem.
