Heck if I can even remember all the specs of my computer it is 3 years old after all.
The motherboard is a MSI - K8N Neo4 Platinum with Nvidia Nforce 4 chipset.
Main HD is a WD Raptor 74 gig.
CPU: Athlon 64 3400 939
Graphics Card: Radion X800 XL 256mb
Power Supply: Tagan 480W
Edit - Oops forgot to add - OS: Win XP Home.

Ok What happened. I was using my machine fine last night no problems, Turned it off, got up this morning and pressed the power button, the power light came on fine, didn't hear that usual beap nose and the power just stays on, nothing to the screen. Powered down tried again, same thing. So unhooked all the connections at the back replugged in, checked connection to the monitor everything seems fine. The monitor displays a message saying Monitor is working - no input signal. Tryed a spare monitor anyways, same thing. So wipped out the K8N manual because I remembered I have installed D-Bracket 2 Connector which integrates four LEDs and allows users to indentify system problem through 16 various combinations of LED signals. So watched the LEDs and it doesn't get past the first configuration which is " System Power ON The D-LED will hang here if the processor is damaged or not installed properly." Doesn't even make it to the second one which is "Early Chipset Initialization."

So I hope it isn't my CPU, but I guess if it is thats not to hard a fix.
I was wondering what you Geniuses think.
I was wondering if it could be the Battery on the Motherboard is dead?
I guess its not the Video Card since it doesn't even seem to get that far.
Can I trust the LED signal system?

LOL

Anyways let me know what you think,

Thanks

Ok will get another power supply and try that, but if it isn't the power supply should I try pulling out the CPU and putting it back in again?

Also if the CPU is toast, What CPU would you people recommend for this motherboard According to the MSI website it seems my upgrade options are awesome, Any recommendations would be appreciated thanks.

Ok tried another Power Supply : a Seasonic S12 650W
Still same trouble, no difference.
Now going to try Louissss suggestion of different Video Card.

Now starting to worry maybe it is the motherboard...

anything else I can look for?

Ok grabbed a old PCI card I know is working a Diamond Stealth 64 S3
and no change.. grrrr.
But I did notice when changing out the video card that my northbridge fan isn't moving and when I try to move it by hand it is really stiff probably seized up.

So now I am thinking motherboard. But the thing is you would think it would happen when I was using it not shut it down and then try to boot the next day and not work.

My machine is large well vented has 120mm fan on the front, one on the back the Tagan PSU has a good fan on the bottom sucking up and out and I also have a smaller fan on the side of the machine to pull air in as well, the house is quite cool, never even came close to high temps, I didn't even overclock it meant to but never got around to it.

Ok let me know what you think the most likely problem is, I am thinking motherboard now that I see the NB fan not working.

Thanks for all your help everyone
