Computer runs slow.

I just upgraded my system and I am seeing no difference in the performance that what I had before with my old sytem. I should see lots of difference because it was a significat jump in technology that I put in.

Games that I used to run on my old system run the same or slower than what they were before.

I made sure to have to current Nvidia drivers, I installed all of the Motherboard Drivers. I am not sure what else there is I can try.

Any help would be apriciated.

OLD:
GeForce 2
XP 1600+
512 Ram

NEW:
GeForce 6600GT PCI E
64 3200+
512 Ram

Perhaps a reinstall of your OS might speed things up. It will get rid of all the old crap left over in your registry from your old hardware.

I forgot to mention I Formated right before this install.. Working on a clean install.

I was playing HL2 but that could just be steam....now I am going to mess around with doom 3 and see if that is any better.

doom 3 ran well.. Must be hl2
