Computer will not reboot/shutdown...

Whenever I try to restart/shutdown my system, the monitor does like normal but the system doesn't turn off. I'm so confused as to what is going on. I did just install a new Athlon XP 1800+ but I know the BIOS can handle it. I've checked the docs and the BIOS displays it correctly. Has anyone ever heard of such an issue? If you want to see my hardware setup, it's in the sig. Please share your .02.

I'm trying to with the OS. For it to shutdown I need to manually do it myself. When I go to shutdown/reboot, Windows logs me out and the monitor goes down, but the box just continues to run like normal. It started once I put in my new CPU. :disgust:

I had a similar problem with XP and a Logitech Internet keyboard OEM version - something to do with a driver conflict that would generate an error on shutdown. When XP encounters a device error on shutdown it reboots instead. So you may want to check you keyboard software and make sure its a version conmpatible with XP.

I just reset the CMOS and all is well for now.
